The next time I come out to photograph the Canadian Firefighters Memorial will be the Sunday of the upcoming Canadian Firefighters Memorial Ceremony. The memorial site is just about ready for that. The trees have been pruned and there are newly planted plants in places that had been on the barren side. All the names for 2014 have been added to the wall. A group came in last year and did a clean up and pressure wash a few days before the ceremony. I expect they will do it again.

This blog features many photographs. These are shown on the page in a small size. They can be viewed in a larger size by clicking on them. When you do that you will get a large size photograph with a series of thumbnails below it. Clicking on any of those will bring it up in a larger size. Canadian Firefighters Memorial, August 17, 2014
A fair bit of work has been done on the memorial site since my last visit. The site has undergone extensive weeding and the foliage has been pruned. The memorial will be nice for the upcoming ceremony in September.
The berries on this downy serviceberry tree are on their way to a bright red colour. |
The three limber pines, which I call 'The Three Sisters,' look to be thriving. |

Canadian Firefighters Memorial, August 3, 2014
We had a very hot sunny day this time out. I am watching out for new names being added but I think that will happen about mid August. I'll return in two weeks and hopefully I will see them done by then.
