Canadian Firefighters Memorial, October 10, 2016

We had a bright sunny day without clouds. Preston Street between Albert Street and Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway is now closed and Booth Street is open again. The work on the parks in the area will improve the environment of the memorial but the parks are still fenced up. Come next spring I will get more pictures of the area in context with the memorial. Today, I have just one.

The memorial viewed from the west. From where I took the picture the viewer has
a good view of the memorial. The firefighter's dark colour blends in with the
background making him hard to see. Click on the image to see it larger to see
him. Snow fencing will protect the park to some extent over the winter. I
will have more pictures of this area next spring/summer when it looks nicer.

This is the first year the berries on these
trees have actually come out in any quantity.

The cranes and other construction you can see across the
street is the National Holocaust Monument taking shape.
