This medallion in its presentation case is presented to each of the families of a firefighter killed in the line of duty in the previous year. The name of the firefighter is engraved on the back of the medallion. |

This year, 2013, there were nine families of firefighters being honoured and receiving a medallion, the eight here and the one shown in the previous photograph. |

In the Canadain Armed Forces, firefighting is a trade of the Air Force. Aboard the Navy's ships and in Army bases the firefighters posted there are Air Force personnel. |
