In the past two weeks we have had temperatures fighting to be above zero and we have had the snow fighting to remain with several days with snowfalls. The snow has gradually retreated on the Memorial site. The deciduous trees on the site have grown buds and are ready to sprout their leaves.
The wind and salt spray has worn through the firefighter's protective coating in a number of places, notably on his right arm and on his boots. Look closely at his pictures below and you will see the green patina showing through in those locations.
