It looks like about a month and a half has gone by since the last time I was out taking pictures of the memorial. What with bad weather and birthday parties February managed to slip by without having me go out to take pictures. As it is I think that I have now photographed the memorial with the most snow it has had this winter. Since I started to see runoff this day I have a feeling the next time I come out there will be significantly less snow, if any.

Canadian Firefighters Memorial, January 18, 2015
This was the day with roadworthy weather to get to the memorial and photograph it for the first time in 2015. If you take a look at the pictures taken last month you can see that quite a bit of snow has fallen since then. There was a day with some freezing rain as well and in some of these pictures you can see the exposed icy crust from that.

Canadian Firefighters Memorial, December 28, 2014
I took these photographs on my last visit to the Canadian Firefighters Memorial for 2014. The distinct lack of snow resulted from a four day mild spell. The almost cloud free sky and sun low in the sky made for long shadows early in the afternoon. I had to watch to keep the sun and my shadow out of the frame.

Canadian Firefighters Memorial, December 14, 2014
On this date the snow has arrived to stay. The snow does this neat thing. It shows where people have come to visit the memorial. A burlap cover has been added to the snow fence. Hopefully it will minimize the detrimental effect of much of the salt spray from the nearby road.
| You can see tracks in the snow next to the wall. They come to a place at the wall, get close to the wall and then go back again. It's nice to see that people come to visit the memorial. |
