Canadian Firefighters Memorial, August 25, 2012

The pole has arrived and been installed. Its surface is quite different in colour and texture to the statue. As the statue takes on its patina the pole will remain golden. The eventual contrast will seem appropriate as if it had been planned that way.
















In the plans and on the model the fire pole was about three times the height that it is on the site. Due to height regulations the pole's height had to be reduced. It still looks impressive.
