The sod turning ceremony for the Canadian Firefighters Memorial took place in April, 2011. Construction had already started at that time. Unfortunately I didn't get the idea to go to the site and take pictures every week, until June. On June 11, 2011 I went to the site and took pictures.
In these pictures you can see the base foundation for the wall has been poured and formers and rebar for the part of the wall that will be below ground are going into place.
The last picture is a satellite image showing the location of the Canadian Firefighters Memorial site.
