Canadian Firefighters Memorial, April 15, 2012

Work on the front slope is now happening but the changes are subtle. Mainly the stone capping the concrete is being finished off with mortar.

A large container of water for making mortar. Speculation is that the water contains antifreeze, as the temperatures are still very cold.

In front of the high hoe are a cement mixer, a container of water and bags of concrete.

You can see here the top stone has been cut, edging stone has been placed and mortar applied.

Another view showing the work on the edge of the stone work. All this detail will eventually disappear.

Edging stone lined up and prepared for installation.

Note the vice on the manhole.
