Canadian Firefighters Memorial, September 25, 2011

The site takes shape. The upper part of the statue's base has been poured. The east walkway has been poured. Concrete steps and other things on the east side are in place and more materials have been delivered.

These cut stones were delivered at this time and they sat on the site like this until they were finally used very near the last week of the memorial's completion. They are now place on the site providing a place to sit for visitors.

The statue's base has been completely poured. There is still much work to be done before the statue will be placed on it. At this time the statue is being worked on.So

Some time later on early in the next year a decision will be made to put a time capsule on the site. I don't know where it was placed but I speculate that it went into this part of the site.

Very near completion this step will become part of a walkway.

For a long time we speculated on what this structure was for. It ended up in the grassy area. I think it was intended to be a hard point on which a stage could be placed for ceremonies at the site. I was told this was the case but it was not used for that as the stage was placed elsewhere.

This area was used for collecting debris and trash from the site. Eventually it was levelled and sodded.

Concrete has been poured for the pathway. Later on it will be covered with stone work.
