Canadian Firefighters Memorial, August 21, 2011

It rained. I'll have to resort to captions for this installment as there was quite a bit going on. There are three main things. There are formers in place for the foundation of the statue's base. The wall has been back filled on the north face. The flower pot has all the formers for the concrete to come.

These are the formers in place for the statue's base. On the far side you can see a gap. There is electrical wiring in the base and the access gap may be so that an electrician can get in there and set up wiring in conduits before the concrete goes in.

There has been blue plastic material placed on the top of the wall. This will keep water from eroding the structure.

The wall has been back filled on the north side with stones, providing good drainage. The stones have been marked out.

I have no idea why the sky is pink in this picture.

The formers are all in place for the lone pine planter (flower pot.)

These are sample stoned for the wall. I think these were used for training purposes. The wooden wall behind simulates the concrete wall and these stones will be mounted on it.
