Canadian Firefighters Memorial, September 9, 2011

At the time these pictures were taken the dedication ceremony was exactly one year away. This was a work day. You can see activity on the site. The main thing happening is that they were pouring and smoothing the concrete structure on the north of the wall. Some of the stone for facing the wall has arrived at the site.

You can see a cement mixer with a boom for pouring the concrete with precision.

The covering has been removed from the statue's base and the ground filled around it. Rebar extends at the top for another pour and there are tubes extending down. Further down the page there is a view from an other angle.

You can see concrete being poured into the formers and then being worked into place.

Here a trades person smooths the concrete surface.

A hard point with electrical wiring has been added here. A light fixture will go there. There will also be hard points on which trash cans will be fixed.

Stone for covering the wall has been delivered.
